pETZ 5 Wint save adopted cats & dogs..why?

Hello everyone i have vista. The game works fine on it, only prolem is when i adopt a pet from the Petz AC or i breed my pets they do not appear in the adopted pets folder in: C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Studio Mythos\Petz 5\Resource\Adopted petz
Can anyone give me a suggestion to what might be wrong?

vista is known for moving things aorund do they atleast show up in the game when you start it up agian? if you can i suggest putting your pets in a back up and do what i did
install the petz program somewhere else

i installed it on my desktop after hereing multiple people talking about this issue and ive never had a problem at all

I had the same problem. Any new .pet files wouldn't appear, and the petz were actually gone from my game too when I restarted.

The solution to this and many other vista problems is simple: install Petz somewhere OUTSIDE Program Files. My games are in C:/Petz instead of C:/Program Files/Petz and they work like a charm. You can also put them in My Documents. As long as it's not Program Files, you should be fine.

or maybe you name the petz with a ? , / , \ , <or>... it won't save those...

^ But then, wouldn't you get an error while naming your pets? Just like when you give a pet a name you've already used?

Also try running the game as Administrator. That actually fixes a BUTTLOAD of problems that Vista has with Petz x.x

After everything with Vista, I'm afraid to get Windows 7 XD

For future reference to anyone else who as the problem, try copy and pasting this into your address bar in 'My Computer' and replace your windows name with the Jordyn (obviously).

C:\Users\Jordyn\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Studio Mythos\Petz 5\Adopted Petz

That happened to me. Since they didn't appear in the first place I knew they'd go when I ran as admin.

Go to LNZ pro, and you CAN select them there. Then Save as in a different folder and paste back in when you run the program as administrator. ;D
